The Environmentalists’ Environment.

Orthodox environmentalists have a fatal blind spot. They seem unaware that an enormous amount of economic activity and demands upon the environment are quite unnecessary.

Full employment is unnecessary to sustain ourselves in comfort, but is insisted upon as a means of distributing incomes.

The consumer products which exist could be used if money were distributed to buy them. But no, commuter services, sky scrapers, traffic congestion and myriad inputs have to be used up to keep us employed, when only empayment is actually necessary.
